New Haven Theater Company announces auditions for a staged reading of BODY & SOLD a play by Deborah Lake Fortson.

Seeking African-American, Caucasian, and Latino Women and Men aged 18-35. Headshots/resumes are welcome, but not necessary. Auditions by cold-reading.

Body & Sold is a dramatic presentation of verbatim interviews with eight victims of underage sex trafficking. As such, the material is very difficult, and might be unsuitable for underage actors and may be upsetting even to adults.

This reading is part of a national project (more information) raising awareness about sex trafficking of American children and teens. It will be produced wtih minimal staging in late March. There will be three rehearsals between the audition and the end of March.
